"Thanks to the Program, doors that I thought would never be accessible, were opened for me"

Rosa Luz Sánches

"Thanks to the Program, I fulfilled my dreams, made them be tangible and specific"

Tania Gómez

I’m Tania, I’m currently living in Taipei, Taiwan, working for a local marketing company. I graduated from the Oportunidades Program in 2010.

In Oportunidades I learned to be disciplined, to organize my time and do everything with purpose.

I realized that taking English and Computer courses was not just about taking another class, it wasn’t just another task that I had to do, instead I became aware that in time I would use and apply these essential knowledge and skills in my university studies and later at work. Understanding that, made me more conscious about my future academic decisions, and in my life as a teenager.

I graduated from Ming Chuan University in 2018 and currently I’m working in a marketing company. I am pleased with my job for now, but I would like to begin something else, learn new things and abilities, it’s only natural that you want to learn new things.

I am Manuel Pineda and currently I am in the third phase of the Oportunidades Program. Many memories from 12 years ago come to mind, when I first started the Program in phase one. I’m part of the first generation of Oportunidades’ beneficiaries.

During phase two of the program I studied at Escuela Superior de Economía y Negocios (ESEN) thanks to a Scholarship that Oportunidades Program granted me. It was a significant challenge in my life; I successfully graduated and received a Business and Economics degree.

Currently I’m in phase three of the Program, working for Citibank; thanks to Oportunidades I have been able to further develop my abilities and capabilities exponentially, in a way that I would have never imagined 12 years ago when I started the Program. Thank you Oportunidades!

Claudia Pineda

I’m Claudia María Pineda Olano, but everyone knows me as Claudia Olano. Currently, I am a Communications undergraduate at Dr. José Matías Delgado University. Let me tell you a little bit about my professional life: at 19 I started my college social services in TECHO El Salvador. Soon afterwards, I started working at IdeaWorks as a Community Manager.

I later earned various academic certifications that allowed me to grow and start working as a Content Manager at Elaniin. However, the love for the brand and the social causes for which TECHO stands for, made me want to go back and work for them in October of last year. Now I hold the position of Commercial Assistant Director, where I get to work with different corporations that engage in social programs that benefit the most vulnerable communities in the country.

Melvin Noyola

As I recall from sixth grade, my only goals at that time were to graduate from ninth grade and get a job as a construction worker or at a car repair shop. Afterwards, I moved to a different school and to my surprise my academic performance was below average. If I didn’t do my best to catch up, I would have to restart seventh grade, which I was about to finish at that time. I saw myself in deep trouble and began to work hard and study like I’ve never done before; so, in less than a year later, I got my first ever academic excellence recognition. That’s where all my dreams and goals began to take shape and realized what I was capable of.

The idea of joining the Oportunidades Program started to set in my mind; that’s where it all began to make sense and soon after began to set goals for myself. When I finally received my scholarship to go to College, I learned that life always gives you challenges and if you really want to overcome them, there will always be a way, the right time and the opportunities to achieve your goals. A week after classes ended at college, I was signing a job contract with Aeroman for a permanent position. I graduated in April 2018 as an Aeronautical Maintenance Technician and have been working there since; working in what I love and am passionate about.
